UTÖKA wanted to give something to our clients for the holiday season that was of course well-designed, but also practical. We got the entire agency together to brainstorm ideas and chose what best showed our personality and signature design style. This set of recipe coasters serve a dual purpose: providing holiday recipes to serve during the holiday season, as well as a place for your cocktail to sit while doing so. This holiday set of coasters was selected as a winner in the 2017 Atlanta Addy’s competition for self-promotion.
The series consisted of 15 recipes: 5 savory, 5 sweet, and 5 cocktail; along with an 5 that incorporated our UTÖKA logo into patterns. Each recipe was provided from an employee at our company. We printed on high-end cotton sheet of paper utilizing two of our brand PMS colors letterpressed on the coasters, and foil embossing of the UTOKA logo on the box that was custom-sized to fit the coasters. This careful process and attention to detail was important for UTOKA to make sure their brand was represented according to the new brand guidelines, and to make the holiday coaster set feel luxurious and high-end.
We photographed deconstructed versions of recipes in a graphic style that embodies the UTÖKA brand. Using a stylized graphic style that sets itself apart from the food photography often found online. Because these recipes are simple we wanted to focus on the graphic nature of the ingredients rather than the end result. Plus, when you make any of our recipes, they won’t last too long.
