Partnering with MELT, we were able to utilize our Aflac duck CGI asset that we previously created in partnership with Aflac. The timeline was tight as we had 2-weeks to create a spot for air on SEC-sponsored college football broadcasts. We made a 10-sec spot and several additional versions. Having previously modeled and rigged the duck for animation made this a seamless process on a short timeline. Utöka, MELT, Aflac, and SEC football for the win!
This project involved a complete custom-built, rigged 3D character. The rebuild was made to fully resemble the existing asset. The final product will allow for any pose and/or animation and is fully owned by Aflac. We Build a complete tutorial guide both as a booklet and video tutorial showing how to use the rig. We mage custom feather systems, each feather is a 3d modeled asset. We developed a finishing system for compositing giving further refinement in post-production. There is a brush pack of feathers and feather-like brush details. We started with a real duck in the studio to capture movements and photographic details. We then used those to build the model. make for an accurate rig and textures. All to break the rules and make a comic version of a duck to match the original ducks made for Aflac.
